ReadySet is designed to be used as a supplement and assessment resource curriculum. The software allows teachers to use it just as it is, or modify it to meet their own needs. Each package is a complete grade level and subject specific resource, that addresses every standard. Unlike online assessment programs where students work alone on a computer, ReadySet is designed to keep the focus of instruction on each student.
Curriculum experts research specific requirements for each subject area, at each grade level, per state, before designing and creating a curriculum package for ReadySet. Teams gather and analyze individual state standards, released test questions, test blueprints, and any other additional information provided by a state’s Department of Education to ensure that ReadySet questions match the state’s questions in difficulty, terminology, structure and questioning strategies. Going one step further, ReadySet’s design features lessons and instructional strategies to TEACH the concepts that are assessed in each state.
ReadySet is a comprehensive program with approximately 100 mini-lessons, reviews, practice tests, and full length assessment tests. It is organized into manageable units that can be used as is, or edited, moved, and combined to meet customized needs of teachers and districts. Pre and Posttests are patterned to mimic individual state tests in length, difficulty, and number of questions addressing assessed standards. Practice tests help students familiarize with terminology and strategies needed to be successful on the state exams. Different from “teaching to the test.” ReadySet’s mini-lessons provide instruction and assessment that support teachers in helping students master the concepts assessed on state tests.
Every slide in ReadySet is tagged to the state standard that the lesson or question addresses, which enables educators to gather assessment data on every student, every day. Teachers spend time analyzing data and creating data-driven instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
When ReadySet is used with Qwizdom’s Student Response System automatic data gathering and report generation allows for timely and continuous evaluation of students’ progress throughout the year. In turn, additional instruction can be administered when and where needed. This is true data-driven teaching at its best.
Whether used as a bell-ringer activity, a supplemental resource, an assessment tool, or even an after school remedial curriculum, ReadySet is a strong, flexible program that will assist in the improvement of student learning and test achievement.
Qwizdom is an education solution company that was founded by teachers more than 20 years ago, and at its core, is still owned and operated by teachers today. Follow your state’s link or contact Qwizdom to find out more about the solutions available and how they can help you and your district. |
